Video Conferencing H323 Gatekeeper Upgrade – May 30, 2013

On Thursday May 30, 2013 at 10:00 PM OneNet will be replacing the H323 gatekeepers. The gatekeepers have the addresses 164.58.253.191 and the DNS entry of gatekeeper.onenet.net, neither of these addresses will change and this upgrade is not expected to affect video conferencing.

During the upgrade some systems may fail to register with the new gatekeeper and we are recommending that you reboot or power cycle the systems if they are having difficulties registering with the new gatekeeper or placing calls. If you have any questions about the planned upgrade or any technical issues afterwards please contact the service desk at h323@onenet.net or by phone at 888-5-OneNet (888-566-3638) option 2 or 405-225-9444 option 2.

The H323 gatekeepers provide a means of address resolution for video conferencing similar to the functionality that DNS provides to the Internet. The current gatekeepers run on hardware that is a number of years old and have limited functionality available. The new gatekeepers will have increased functionality and capabilities that we will be evaluating and deploying in the near future.

HUB Site Maintenance

Starting this Saturday night and through next week we will be upgrading code on various HUB site routers. Each site will experience roughly a 2.5 minute outage during the upgrade. The maintenance windows we are shooting for a 2 hours long as several routers wil be upgraded each night between midnight and 2am. So you should expect the brief outage sometime during that window.

Duncan Hub Site – EMERGENCY Maintenance – May 24, 2013

Friday, May 24, 2013 there is a scheduled EMERGENCY maintenance outage. This outage is scheduled for 02:00-04:00 CDT. The maintenance is expected to affect the commercial utility power to the hub site equipment and surrounding area of Duncan, OK. Utility personnel will be replacing / repairing necessary infrastructure facilities damaged by recent severe weather events. During the maintenance all OneNet services will be intermittent or unavailable. The maintenance will be performed as efficiently as possible to reduce the length of the outage, but the full window is reserved.

Tishomingo Hub Site – Commerial Power OUTAGE

This morning at about 05:00 CDT commercial power to the Tishomingo hub site was lost. This outage is believed to be the result of severe weather. The hub site equipment is currently operating on battery systems. These systems are exhaustible and may fail within the next few hours. Commercial power is not anticipated to be restored until late this evening, May 21, 2013.

Miami Hub Site – Communication LOST – UPDATE

May 15, 2013 at 19:57 CDT communication with the Miami hub site was lost. Communication interruption has been confirmed to be a local commercial power issue. Personnel are monitoring the situation. Estimated time of repair is 72 hours from the time of the initial outage. Further information may be released as it becomes available.
