OneNet’s Purchasing Specialist
OneNet is fortunate to have Brandi Casteel as our OneNet purchasing specialist. Brandi not only does an exceptional job keeping our purchasing organized, but she also doubles as a baseball mom in her free time.
Brandi is responsible for coordinating all purchase requests with the OneNet staff. That includes anything from network equipment and maintenance on hardware or software to vehicles and office supplies. Brandi also wears a very important hat at OneNet by coordinating the travel and reimbursement for OneNet staff to attend conferences, meetings or training in or out of state.
Brandi spends her free time with her son, Masen, at baseball tournaments and practice. Masen plays catcher for the OKC Red Sox. She stays busy by spending three weekends a month on the baseball fields during the spring and two weekends a month during the fall.
Brandi is also a longtime Oklahoma native; she was born and raised in Moore, Okla. She has enjoyed living in Moore so much she has never left.
Brandi started with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education 26 years ago in the Oklahoma College Assistance Program, formerly known as the Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program. In 2014, she decided to make the move to OneNet.
“When OneNet posted the purchasing specialist position, I knew this position was the one for me,” Brandi said.
Purchasing was part of her responsibilities at OCAP. Brandi says that it became her favorite part of her job. She enjoys the interaction with the vendors as well as OSRHE’s purchasing group upstairs.
“My motivation comes from OneNet’s entire staff,” she said. “We are all working toward the same mission — serving the people of Oklahoma — by advancing technology across the state. Each of our roles is critical in achieving that mission.”
Brandi recently earned her certification as a certified procurement officer. She passed her exam after spending a week in April learning all about the CPO certification. To maintain this certification, Brandi must continue her education in the CPO field. OneNet’s leadership appreciates having a CPO handling purchasing for our team.
When Brandi has a weekend off, she enjoys loading up and heading to the lake with her family. Brandi and her family enjoy soaking up the sun at either Thunderbird Lake or Arbuckle Lake. You can also find her reading, shopping, cooking or traveling to a tropical destination when she isn’t hard at work for OneNet.
