Stay Safe Online During Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and OneNet is a proud champion of the global initiative to help educate and empower our team members, subscribers and community on how to stay safe online. Along with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA), we’re promoting safer digital practices for individuals and organizations alike.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a collaborative effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organizations, tribal communities, and individuals committed to educating others about online safety.
Everyone’s Responsibility
In today’s digital world, cybersecurity isn’t just an IT concern; it’s everyone’s responsibility. Whether it’s protecting your organization’s data, safeguarding information for subscribers, members, students and patients, or keeping your personal accounts secure, small actions make a big difference for everyone.
Now in its 22nd year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a call to action for everyone to take responsibility for their online safety. This year’s theme, “Stay Safe Online,” emphasizes the importance of empathy, accessibility, and shared responsibility in creating a safer digital world.
Four Easy Steps
“Stay Safe Online” is a reminder that good cyber habits don’t have to be complicated or intimidating. Cybersecurity is achievable for everyone, and you can take easy steps to protect yourself and your organization.
Four simple but powerful actions that everyone can take to strengthen cybersecurity:
- Use strong passwords and a password manager
- Turn on multifactor authentication
- Update your software
- Recognize and report scams
By implementing these simple steps, you’ll be doing your part to keep all of us safe online.
