Oklahoma has a wide array of summer activities focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. From robots to coding, students have a chance to ignite their curiosity and help them build essential skills for the future.
State Regents Summer Academies
The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education offers FREE Summer Academies! Spend time at an Oklahoma college or university during the summer and discover the fascinating worlds of robotics, architecture, construction, engineering, environmental conservation, and much more! STEM Summer Academies at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics
The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics OSSM in Oklahoma City offers summer academies focusing on different STEM subjects. These academies provide hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to work with faculty and professionals in STEM fields. The 2024 academies will be held July 15-19 and July 22-26. Summer Engineering Days at the University of Oklahoma
The Gallogly College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma hosts summer engineering day camps for high school juniors and seniors. Oklahoma City Community College “College for Kids” Program
The Oklahoma City Community College “College for Kids” program offers a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) events designed to engage and inspire young learners in these fields. These events provide an interactive and hands-on learning experience, encouraging participants to explore STEM subjects in a fun and supportive environment. Sam Noble Summer Explorer Program
The Summer Explorer Program is an educational and engaging summer camp offered by the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, located in Norman, Oklahoma. This program provides children and youth with the opportunity to explore and learn about various scientific disciplines, natural history and cultural heritage through hands-on activities, interactive exhibits and expert-led sessions. YMCA Camp Classen is a traditional overnight summer camp in the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma. Classen Campers should be between the ages 6-16. They offer a variety of activities from archery and horseback riding to hiking and canoeing. Learn more about Camp Classen.
Discovery Lab
Discovery Lab offers camps throughout the year to engage and educate children from pre-k through sixth grade. Fun, hands-on activities focus on science content such as chemistry, engineering, and coding. Oklahoma Aquarium S.T.E.M. Night
Every 3rd Tuesday of each month the Oklahoma Aquarium hosts S.T.E.M. Night projects. Every third Tuesday of each month the Oklahoma Aquarium hosts a Sensory Awareness Evening. With low lights & quiet music parents and students can explore the Oklahoma Aquarium. Each month has a self-guided scavenger hunt with a prize for everyone who completes it! Oklahoma State University Summer STEM Program
Oklahoma State University offers a program designed to engage and inspire middle and high school students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through a variety of hands-on activities, workshops, and immersive experiences. Tulsa Community College STEM Camps
Students will design, build, and test rollercoasters using these concepts, including computer simulations, 3D printing, and hand tools, with final presentations including a social media STEM Challenge. Camp Cherokee
Camp Cherokee 2024 Day Camps is an enriching academic experience for Cherokee Nation students entering grades 1-6 during the school year 2024-25. The day camps include STEM classes, as well as cultural activities. The Cherokee Nation also offers a residential camp for Cherokee Nation students entering grades 7-12. Then camp will include classes in the areas of STEM as well as cultural activities. Evening hours will provide time for recreation, enrichment, and large camp events.
