#OneNetChampions: Christala Smith
Southeastern Oklahoma State University
Director: Center for Instructional Development and Technology
How long have you worked for your organization?
I’ve been in my current position since January 2014. I have also been an adjunct for the English department here from August 2007 to present.
Describe what you do on an everyday basis.
I support the online community at Southeastern. That includes everything from helping instructors build their courses and providing tech support to students to managing social media groups, making videos, and building virtual reality modules. My job is to ensure that the experience of the online student is the best it can possibly be.
How long has your organization been a OneNet customer?
As long as I’m aware of… 🙂
How does high-speed internet help your organization serve your community?
In an online world, high-speed internet is as necessary as water and shelter! We can’t function without having the best service available.
Why are you a OneNet champion?
OneNet has been an amazingly collaborative partner, supportive of new initiatives that will benefit our students! They are interested in progress and will do anything they can to promote and encourage advancements in technology.
What would you tell others about OneNet?
I would tell others that OneNet is more than a service provider. They are a partner who will provide support, resources, consultation, collaboration, and facilitate networking to whatever extent they are able to.
