Summer break is almost here! While the break can be a time to relax and recharge, it’s important your child doesn’t lose valuable skills gained in the school year. Oklahoma has a wide array of summer activities focused on STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. From robots to coding, students have a chance to ignite their curiosity and help them build essential skills for the future.

State Regents Summer Academies

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education offers FREE Summer Academies! Spend time at an Oklahoma college or university during the summer and discover the fascinating worlds of robotics, drones, healthcare, engineering, environmental conservation, and much more! Summer Engineering Days at the University of Oklahoma

The Gallogly College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma hosts summer engineering day camps for high school juniors and seniors. These programs introduce participants to various engineering disciplines through lab activities, projects, and interactions with faculty and students. Learn more at Summer Engineering Days at OU.

Sooner Flight Academy at the University of Oklahoma

Sooner Flight Academy summer camps offer students ages 6-18 an opportunity to experience flight through hands-on activities. These weeklong, non-residential camps take place in June and July. Francis Tuttle Technology Center Summer STEM Camps

Francis Tuttle hosts Summer Quest for students ages 11-15. These camps cover topics like robotics, coding, 3D printing, and electronics, allowing students to explore different aspects of STEM. Learn more at the Francis Tuttle Technology Center.

National Weather Center Public Tours

The National Weather Center offers public tours. Visitors can see the McCasland Family Observation Deck, School of Meteorology, the NOAA/NWS Storm Prediction Center, the NWS Norman Weather Forecast Office, and the National Severe Storm Laboratory. Learn more at the National Weather Center Tours.

Myriad Garden’s Guided Garden Tours

Oklahoma City’s Myriad Garden allows visitors to experience a unique and immersive experience through an interactive map. Led by knowledgeable guides, these tours provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of the garden’s diverse flora, stunning landscapes and notable features. Oklahoma City Zoo Summer Camp

The Oklahoma City Zoo Summer Camp provides a diverse range of engaging and educational experiences for children and youth during the summer months. Oklahoma City Community College “College for Kids” Program

The Oklahoma City Community College “College for Kids” program offers a variety of STEM events designed to engage and inspire young learners in these fields. These events provide an interactive and hands-on learning experience, encouraging participants to explore STEM subjects in a fun and supportive environment. Riversport Camps

Riversport OKC offers a series of summer camps that provide adventure sports and outdoor recreation based in Oklahoma City. These camps provide children and youth with exciting opportunities to participate in various outdoor and water-based activities while promoting teamwork, skill development and a love for adventure. Sam Noble Summer Explorer Camp 

The Summer Explorer Camp is an educational and engaging summer camp offered by the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, located in Norman, Oklahoma. This program provides children and youth with the opportunity to explore and learn about various scientific disciplines, natural history and cultural heritage through hands-on activities, interactive exhibits and expert-led sessions. YMCA Camp Classen

YMCA Camp Classen is a traditional overnight summer camp in the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma. Classen Campers should be between the ages 6-16. They offer a variety of activities from archery and horseback riding to hiking and canoeing. Learn more about Camp Classen.

Discovery Lab

Discovery Lab offers camps throughout the year to engage and educate children from pre-k through sixth grade. Fun, hands-on activities focus on science content such as chemistry, engineering, and coding. Oklahoma Aquarium S.T.E.M. Night

Every 3rd Tuesday of each month the Oklahoma Aquarium hosts S.T.E.M. Night projects. Every 1st Tuesday of each month the Oklahoma Aquarium hosts a Sensory Awareness Evening. With low lights & quiet music parents and students can explore the Oklahoma Aquarium. Each month has a self-guided scavenger hunt with a prize for everyone who completes it! Oklahoma State University Summer STEM Program 

Oklahoma State University offers a program designed to engage and inspire Kindergarten – high school students in STEM fields through a variety of hands-on activities, workshops, and immersive experiences. Learn more about the OSU Summer STEM Program.

Tulsa Community College for Kids

In June and July, Tulsa Community College offers over 50 College for Kids camps. Topics include STEM, world languages, gaming and coding, and arts and literature.  Both in-person and virtual formats are available. Learn more at the Tulsa Community College for Kids.

Camp Cherokee

Camp Cherokee 2025 Day Camps is an enriching academic experience for Cherokee Nation students entering grades 1-6 during the school year 2025-26.  The day camps include STEM classes, as well as cultural activities. The Cherokee Nation also offers a residential camp for Cherokee Nation students entering grades 7-12.  Then camp will include classes in the areas of STEM as well as cultural activities. Evening hours will provide time for recreation, enrichment, and large camp events. Students must have a Cherokee Nation Citizenship Card. Learn more at Camp Cherokee.

Children’s Safety Village Summer Camps

The Edmond Fire Department offers one-day camps for ages 5-7 and 8-10. Campers learn lifesaving skills like fire safety, home escape plans, water safety and pedestrian safety. They also have the opportunity to practice firefighter skills. Register at the Edmond Parks and Recreation website.

Oklahoma Department of Libraries Online Summer Skills Camp

Stuck inside? The Oklahoma Department of Libraries has created an online camp that allows students to practice their math, science, and writing skills. They offer live tutoring from 1pm-11pm with 24/7 access to study tools. In addition, they also offer full-service test center for all levels, including college preparatory tests.
