OneNet’s Chief Information Security Officier

Chris HeadshotIt is hard to imagine a day in the office without Chris Kosciuk. Serving as OneNet’s CISO, each day looks a little different for him, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. The challenges that come with his position require him to stay on his toes and adapt to change.

“My favorite part about my job is that there is never a normal day,” Kosciuk said. “It’s always exciting and I never know what to expect when I walk into the office.”

Kosciuk has worked with network information systems for more than 15 years, providing him with the exceptional information security and management skills needed to make things run smoothly for our employees and customers alike.

Despite all of his responsibilities, Kosciuk still makes sure that his goals as CISO are customer focused, which is what drew him to continue his career with OneNet. Regardless of the challenge at hand, he makes sure the customer is top priority.

“The most important part of our jobs is that we build and maintain trust with our customers, and keep their information as secure as possible,” he said.

Kosciuk works to exceed customer expectations by building his departmental goals on three focal points: confidentiality, integrity and availability. Focusing on these three objectives ensures that there is not a day that goes by where he does not constantly try to improve and secure our network.

Securing any network is vital, but Kosciuk believes OneNet is unique because our network goes above and beyond to help rural communities and organizations across the state. He enjoys using his skillset to help those who need it most.

“Some small organizations don’t even have IT departments, so being able to see the change and impact we have on them makes what I do so rewarding,” he said.

Although there are many fulfilling aspects of to his job, there are also many challenges. Kosciuk believes the most challenging part about any job in information technology is having a defensive perspective. Staying ahead of the curve means that Kosciuk is constantly acquiring new skills to guarantee OneNet continues to provide unparalleled service.

Kosciuk says that between work and children, his spare time is slim to none. However, when he does have time he enjoys relaxing with friends and family.

Kosciuk’s skillset helps to combine innovation and security, which ensures OneNet provides the most advanced technology across Oklahoma. His dedication to his job is another reason why OneNet’s network is changing the lives of Oklahomans every day.
